In order to support a Governing Body recruit an Executive Headteacher, Headteacher, Head of School or Senior Leader, I can do the following things;

  • Meet with the Governing Body to discuss the strategic direction of the school / academy and decide what type of person fits where the school is heading
  • Helping with the appointment of a Recruitment Selection Panel
  • Facilitating the discussion about school group size, salary scales, and pay
  • Designing the job description, person specification and job advert
  • Advise on how to find suitable candidates, where to advertise and use my networks to headhunt select people
  • Manage the application screening process and shortlisting
  • Ensure that safer recruitment principles are met at every step of the recruitment process
  • Designing a bespoke assessment process that assesses the right skills for the job
  • Coaching Governors in interview skills and techniques, as well as critiquing an application form ready for the interview
  • Designing an induction programme which ensures the successful candidate is working at full capacity as soon as possible
